Christmas Posting Dates
Christmas is very nearly here. In fact, it is so close we had our first mince pies of the season in September, and they were delicious. We have been excited to see the start of early Christmas orders coming in, with plenty of customers loving our new 2024 designs! And this time of year, it’s great to send cards to family and friends, the perfect way to keep in touch or maybe reconnect with someone. And so we want to remind everyone about or shipping rates, policies and the best value way to send your cards on to their recipients....

Mother's Day is the perfect chance to show your mum a little extra love. A Mother’s Day card does more than just mark the occasion; it's a personal touch that says you've taken the time to appreciate her. And with that in mind, we’ve created over 100+ original Mother’s Day messages so you can use them as they are, or as inspiration to change them into your own words. Write your own mother’s day...
How do you sign yours?
Some mornings the temptation not to start work is strong. Today was one of those days - a Tuesday that feels like a Monday!, so lying in bed doom-scrolling on the Insta a suggested reel pops up. And it really made me laugh out loud. It is a clip from a Esther Manito's stand up show Crusade that is currently available on UK TV Play. It's all about how her husband and his parents sign their greeting cards, reading it won't do it justice so watch the clip to find out. View this post on Instagram A post shared...
Thinking of You Week 2023
As a greeting card publisher, we understand the profound impact that a simple card can have on someone's day. That's why we're excited to share with you the wonderful occasion known as "Thinking of You Week." It's a time to celebrate the power of connection, emotions, and connections we have to friends and family. A greeting card from a friend or loved one can be very powerful, it can have much more meaning then many think. A few weeks ago, we saw a post on Reddit that reminds us cards don't have to be fancy or expensive, they can be...
Get Ready For Christmas Early and Save!
Holidays are coming, holidays are coming … We may not be the Coca-Cola advert, but with Christmas just around the corner and we are already starting to pick cards with Santa on for orders. There is good news and there is bad news for sending cards to friends and family this year! Good news is that there aren’t any Royal Mail strikes planned this year. We lost track of how many orders and cards got lost in the postal system last year. So hopefully your cards will be delivered quickly and promptly this year. But as always, we suggest getting...
A whole new experience
If you are a new customer of Dean Morris Cards - hello, welcome, it is lovely to have you here. If you are one of our fantastic existing customers you may have noticed we have had some work done! When we opened our first online store back in the dark ages of the Internet in the late 20th Century there wasn't much available in terms of e-commerce software. We used some open-source software called Zen Cart. It was awesome! We stuck with it for years, but now the time has come to update. So we have moved to the Shopify platform...
The appeal of rude Greeting Cards
"I love your cards but they are a bit too rude for my shop." At trade shows we have heard this from so many potential customers. They are right that a lot of our cards are a bit rude, some are outrageously naughty, but we have an awful lot more cards without any swearing then we do with. Back in the late 20th Century when Dean Morris Cards was started we were a pioneer of filth! Most companies preferred to stear clear of of the more coarse language we brought to the market - cards with fluffy bunny's, formular one...
Adopt A Shop for Christmas
Has anyone else noticed everyone is getting ready for Christmas a little earlier than usual this year? We are – the Christmas trees went up two weekends back. There is no other way to say it – 2020 has been a shit year! One of our most popular Christmas Cards this year seems to have hit the sentiment perfectly looking at how many of you are buying it … Fuck 2020! We have friends and family in all four countries of the UK who have had to go through different lockdowns, tiers and restrictions. And of course, our stockists and...
And for something completely different...
I think it’s something I am reasonably qualified to do, certainly more so than tiling (tried that once, never again) or football. I also believe it’s a part of the greeting card industry that some people within don’t like to acknowledge and yet rightly or wrongly it’s the one aspect of the industry that often generates the most media attention. This was very much in evidence towards the end of January when a less than kind post on Mumsnet about some of my ruder Valentine’s cards made it to a selection of national tabloids. I’m very proud of my place...
This Christmas Don’t Say Fuck or Bugger
This week the UK said goodbye to Big Brother! When it started I loved it, do you remember Caggy from the first series? It became a very different programme over the years, budgets went up, media coverage exploded, and careers were made and forgotten about. Of course it reached it’s peak with the Davina parody character’s iconic line “You’re live on Channel 4 – don’t say fuck or bugger!” I probably stopped watching around the 2005 / 2006 series, you can work out when you stopped watching Big Brother with this handy listing of all the Big Brother winners on the BBC....
