Your Orders Supporting Deforestation
Henry Cole sent the first Christmas Card in 1843, and since then we have all experienced the joy of sending or receiving a handwritten card. Now in the digital age of the 21st Century we are so happy to know that this tradition is still going strong.
Since then, how we communicate with each other has changed, as has our understanding of our impact on the planet. At Dean Morris Cards we are committed to making a positive impact to those who receive our cards as well as on the planet through our products and practices. One way we do this is to ensure that as much of our product as possible is recyclable, including envelopes and packaging we send orders out in. And we work with all our printers to ensure the board and paper used for cards and envelopes comes from recycled and / or sustainable sources.
And we are excited to announce our new partnership with the Eden Reforestation Projects through The Good API. We are joining a growing group of over 2,000 merchants using them to help rebuild natural landscapes destroyed by deforestation.
Planting and maintaining forests have a huge impact on the planet, but it requires the support of business to raise the funds to make this happen.
The Eden Reforestation project is planting Mangrove trees in Madagascar, these are known for their amazing ability to absorb and store carbon. They do this engaging local communities in planting and maintaining the forests, which ensures long-term success and provides economic benefits to the locality. You can read much more about the benefits on the Mangrove Reforestation Wikipedia page.
So now, for each £10 you spend on our website Dean Morris Cards pays for a tree to be planted - there is no cost to you. On the checkout page for your order, you will see how many trees will be planted thanks to your ordering some of our fantastic cards and gifts. If you wish, there is an option on the checkout page to make an additional donation to plant some extra tree’s, but this is of course entirely up to you.
